La idea de esta mixtape surgió a raiz de la admiración e influencia musical que como productor tengo a The Herbaliser. Mítico grupo de la escena del hip hop instrumental de UK y que fue unos de los buques insignia de Ninja Tune. Histórico sello que marcó un antes y un después en los 90.
Para la composición del set, he querido seleccionar según mi criterio, los temas con mas groove y hacer una sesión que desde principio a fin no paremos de menear el culo a ritmo de breaks, scratches y puro funk. Para mí son los temas de Herbaliser con los que más me pide el cuerpo bailar y que me transportan a la esencia más pura de los comienzos, cuando los cuatro elementos estaban vinculados y el Hip Hop era un todo.
Dicha la parrafada, desde mi humilde sentir, esta mixtape es mi pequeño homenaje a The Herbaliser.
Uno de los grupos que me han hecho crecer musicalmente y que no me cansaré de repetir, admiro profundamente, espero que la disfrutéis. Paz!

The idea of this mixtape came about as a result of the admiration and musical influence that I have as a producer for The Herbaliser. Mythical group of the instrumental hip hop scene in the UK and which was one of Ninja Tune's flagships. Historic stamp that marked a before and after in the 90s.
For the composition of the set, I wanted to select according to my criteria, the most groove themes and make a session that from beginning to end we do not stop wiggling the ass to the rhythm of breaks, scratches and pure funk. For me it is Herbaliser's themes with which the body asks me to dance and that transport me to the purest essence of the beginning, when the four elements were linked and Hip Hop was a whole.
Said the parrafada, from my humble feeling, this mixtape is my little tribute to The Herbaliser.
One of the groups that have made me grow musically and that I will not tire of repeating, I admire deeply, I hope you enjoy it. Peace!

Habitualmente relacionamos las zonas áridas con grandes desiertos de arena, pero las extensiones frías de nuestro planeta también pueden ser estériles a la vida. De ahí surge DESÁRTICO, que utiliza esta combinación de palabras.
7 · 2 · 7 · 4 nos habla en una buena parte de este proyecto, de las zonas frías y desérticas de nuestra propia vida y de las otras vidas con las que interactuamos. De la soledad y el anhelo de compartir y empatizar con lo que nos rodea, no solo las vivas, también las inertes. Siempre con una mirada emocional, evocadora, solemne y esperanzadora, sin caer en la lagrimilla fácil. Todo perfectamente abonado con las nutritivas producciones y scratches de DJ CHAVEZ, que envuelven los raps con beats profundos. A veces, con pinceladas de boom bap con samples jazzísticos y atmosféricos, en otras con tintes más electrónicos y experimentales. Todo ello para dar forma a un trabajo que busca su espacio en esta escena musical, a veces con demasiado brillo en la superficie y poco contenido consciente en el interior.

Ya está disponible el último álbum y videoclip del productor de Sta. Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), DJ CHÁVEZ. El LP lo ha titulado "Roma Diez" y al videoclip que está dedicado a su madre, lo ha llamado, "Mama". Roma Diez es la calle y el domicilio donde pasó toda su infancia, adolescencia y parte de su juventud. En el diseño de la contraportada podemos observar la fachada del edificio vectorizada, el tracklist consta de diez temas y no es por casualidad, está pensado de forma conceptual. Cristalizando en cada instrumental una emoción de un momento concreto de su vida, y que experimentó en diferentes zonas de este edificio de tres plantas, en el que vivía con sus padres, tíos y abuelos. Este trabajo rinde tributo a una etapa muy especial de DJ CHÁVEZ, y que tras el fallecimiento de su madre, sintió la necesidad de abrazar esa emoción con su música y cerrar el círculo. En cierta manera, le sirve para conectarse espiritualmente con los seres queridos que vivían allí y mandarles un mensaje de amor. Un trabajo sin scratches y aparcando el sampler, para expresarse esta vez con un lenguaje más electrónico y componiendo con el teclado y los sintes. Sin dejar de lado el hip hop abstracto con matices de electro y techno oscuro.

The latest album and video clip by the producer from Sta. Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), DJ CHAVEZ, is now available. Basura Escurridiza es el segundo sencillo del proyecto 7.2.7.4 de DJ CHAVEZ en lo que llevamos de año. Esta vez nos habla de las relaciones humanas que se establecen por el interés y que se camuflan bajo la falsedad. La obsesión por retransmitir la vida de uno por las redes sociales, la “inmediotez” que tanto se lleva por bandera, el culto a la imagen, el postureo, y en definitiva venderse al mejor postor sin escrúpulo alguno, aunque tengas que pasar por encima de quien sea. Todo este mensaje viene bien envuelto de melódicas flautas, sintes electrónicos, bajos gruesos y unos scratches de la casa que cabalgan encima de unas baterías analógicas bien reverberadas.

Y así es, un track que marca el tempo del viaje como un percutor que atraviesa la nieve a 90 bpm’s, con unos scratches hipnóticos que se integran dentro del tema tan característicos de este productor. Las baterías analógicas y demoloderoras se compaginan con unos bajos profundos, melodías electrónicas paneadas tocadas con el sinte y unos sampleos punteados de guitarra y teclas, que dan calidez.
